8 AMBirds and BurialsDogwood Canyon Audubon Center, Cedar Hill
Celebrate the spooky season with a collaborative experience in partnership with the Cedar Hill Museum of History that blends birdwatching and local stories in a Cedar Hill cemetery. Walk respectfully among the graves, look for birds, and pause at select headstones to learn about community history. The specific cemetery will be announced soon. Pre-registration is required because parking at historic cemeteries is limited, and space is capped. Bring binoculars if you have them, or borrow a pair from Dogwood Canyon. This activity takes place outdoors on natural surface trails, so wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather. For year-round inspiration, check out Jennifer Bristol's book "Cemetery Birding: An Unexpected Guide to Discovering Birds in Texas".

Wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing suitable for indoor work such as a t-shirt with jeans or shorts. Park in volunteer-designated areas and leave the row closest to the pantry for clients. Enter through the double sliding doors beneath the Pantry sign to check in on the tablet, then store personal items in the provided lockers.
