6:30 PMAn Evening with Acoustic AlchemySteinmetz Hall, Orlando
Acoustic Alchemy brings more than three decades of contemporary jazz shaped by acoustic guitar melodies colored by global influences. The Grammy-nominated ensemble is known among jazz listeners for favorites like Mr. Chow and Jamaica Heartbeat, pairing nimble musicianship with relaxed grooves. Their latest release, The Empire of Lights, explores reggae accents and western-inspired rhythms while keeping the fluid guitar work that has long defined their sound. The new material spans a western-styled shuffle on 8,000 Miles, the reggae-tinged Alisio, and the upbeat energy of Back to Back. This evening centers on sleek guitars and far-reaching textures as the group marks its Judson's Live debut.
