7 AMSASCA Autocross #9River City Community Church : Church for Real Life, SelmaSports

SASCA Autocross #9 offers a full day of cone course action at River City Community Church. The program welcomes members and non-members, from first timers and novices to experienced journeymen. Advance registration is available, and on-site registration is offered with an added fee. Pricing is $40 for members and $50 for non-members, and there is a $5 surcharge for registering on-site. Participants are encouraged to verify SASCA membership status on MSR following the recent migration. Resources are available to help with classing questions, including a quick reference and the SCCA Classifier. A typical event day includes site setup, on-site registration and vehicle tech inspection, time to walk the course, a novice walkthrough, a mandatory drivers meeting, and then the first car heads out. Event requirements include being at least 16 years old with a valid driver license to drive. A minimum height of 48 inches is required to ride with an approved guardian. Every car must pass tech, and a DOT approved helmet is required, with loaner helmets available. The tech inspection looks for safe tires with no cords showing, secure wheels and all lugs in place with tight suspension and no wheel bearing play, no fluid leaks, a properly secured battery, appropriate under-hood condition including leaks, air cleaner type, notes on modifications for classing, and any loose items, proper pedal operation with a firm brake and smooth accelerator return, removal of all loose items from the cabin and trunk including floor mats, functional seat belts, and seats that are securely mounted. Depending on turnout, extra runs may be offered. If registration exceeds 110, double-driver entries may open for on-site sign-up at the trailer. If that threshold is not met, fun runs may follow the competition for $20, with sign-up at the trailer and help packing the trailer required afterward.
