7 AMBranded BonanzaThe Expo at Glen Rose
Branded Bonanza partners with the Extreme Cowboy Association to present the New Partners division at The Expo at Glen Rose in Glen Rose, Texas. This competition is part of the EXCA World Championship program, and riders may also choose to cross-enter in the Open Mustang division through EXCA. Designed with newer riders in mind, the experience emphasizes encouragement, skill building, and community. To take part, competitors first adopt an eligible horse or burro during the designated adoption window from an approved BLM adoption event, a BLM holding facility, or the Forever Branded Adoption Center. After securing an animal, participants complete online registration and upload adoption or sale documents for verification. Current EXCA membership is required. If someone other than the competitor is the named adopter, that person must be present at pick up to finalize paperwork. Eligible mounts are selected by the competitor or adopter, and all horses must be older than three years; any coat color is acceptable. A $500 payment is provided to every competitor who returns to compete, with additional awards and prizes to be announced. If sufficient interest exists, a digital catalog may be released ahead of the event for those considering rehoming by auction, and competitors may choose to offer their animal for reassignment online after the competition at their discretion. Donations and sponsorships help make the program possible through Forever Branded, a 501(c)(3) with tax-deductible contributions, and program funding is secured so events are planned to proceed as scheduled.
