The Watauga County Farmers’ Market serves as a community gathering place for farm-fresh foods, handmade goods, and friendly connections. This month features about 50 local vendors offering seasonal produce, pastured meats, eggs and dairy, artisan breads, pastries and other prepared foods, plus honey, mushrooms, ferments and pantry staples, along with crafts, artwork and herbal products. The experience includes live music in the Music Tent, cooking demonstrations, children’s activities in the Kid’s Corner, and options for hot coffee, breakfast and lunch. Food access is a priority, with acceptance of SNAP/EBT and WIC and Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program vouchers. SNAP/EBT dollars can be doubled at the Market Info Booth for eligible food items. All products are grown, raised or made by the vendors themselves, supporting local farms, makers and the economy of the High Country.
